Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: October 12, 2026

This Acceptable Use Policy says what Flourish's Services may not be used for. It applies to everyone who uses them, and to every agent, script and integration acting in them: what an agent does at someone's direction counts as that person's use. It is part of our Terms of Service, and words defined there mean the same here.

Unlawful, harmful and abusive use

Do not use the Services to:

  • break the law, or help anyone else break it;
  • infringe or misappropriate anyone's intellectual property, or violate their privacy or publicity rights;
  • harass, threaten, bully or defame anyone, or promote violence against or demean people because of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age or another protected characteristic;
  • create, share or seek sexual content involving a minor, or groom or exploit a child in any way. We report child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children;
  • promote or help with terrorism or violent extremism, encourage self-harm, or traffic people, weapons or illegal drugs;
  • defraud, scam or phish anyone, or impersonate a person or organization; or
  • spread information you know to be false to deceive voters, donors, clients or the public.

Messages and outreach

Agents can send email and other messages from accounts you connect. When they do, or when you send messages through the Services:

  • send only messages that you, or the account's owner, may lawfully send, under laws such as CAN-SPAM and the Telephone Consumer Protection Act;
  • do not send spam: unsolicited bulk or commercial messages to people who have not agreed to receive them;
  • honor every request to unsubscribe or opt out, promptly;
  • do not disguise who a message is from; and
  • tell people they are dealing with an AI agent wherever the law requires it, and wherever they would otherwise believe, in a way that matters to them, that they are talking with a person.

AI and decisions about people

  • Do not rely on Output alone to make a decision that has a legal or similarly significant effect on a person, such as eligibility for benefits, services, housing, employment, credit, insurance, education or health care, or a child welfare, immigration or law enforcement matter. A qualified person must review it first.
  • Do not present Output as professional medical, mental health, legal or financial advice, and do not use the Services in place of emergency services.
  • Do not try to get around the safety measures in the Services or in the AI models behind them, or to make an agent reveal its instructions or anyone else's information.
  • Do not use the Services or Output to build or train a competing AI model or service.
  • Follow the usage policies of the AI model providers whose models you use through the Services, which are part of this Policy, including Anthropic's Usage Policy for Claude models and OpenAI's Usage Policies for OpenAI's models.

Data and people's privacy

  • Put into the Services only data you have the right to use that way, after giving the notices and getting the consents the law requires.
  • Do not use the Services to collect information about people without a lawful basis, or to track, profile or surveil people in ways the law forbids.
  • Do not put sensitive data into the Services that the Terms say needs a separate agreement with us first, such as health information under HIPAA or payment card numbers.

Security and fair use of the Services

  • Do not access, or try to access, accounts, data or systems you are not authorized to use, including other customers' data.
  • Do not probe, scan or test the Services for vulnerabilities, or get around their security, without our written permission. If you believe you have found a vulnerability, tell us at legal@toflourish.org, and access no more data than you need to show it.
  • Do not upload malware, or interfere with, overload or disrupt the Services or the networks behind them.
  • Do not get around usage limits, rate limits or the measurement of usage we bill for.
  • Do not scrape the Services, or access them by automated means other than the APIs, agents and integrations we provide, within the limits in the Documentation.
  • Do not copy, modify or reverse engineer the Services, except as the law expressly allows.
  • Do not share sign-in credentials or API tokens, or resell the Services or make them available to other organizations, except as your Order Form allows.

Connected services

When agents act in a service you have connected, its own terms and policies apply too, and some forbid things this Policy does not mention. Follow them; breaking them can end access for everyone who connects that service through Flourish.

Content others can see

Content you share with others or open to the public in the Services, such as an agent, a forum or a web app, must follow this Policy, and so must what it does for the people who use it. A group or community in the Services may also have its own guidelines, which apply to everyone in it.

Enforcement

We may investigate suspected violations. If we find one, we may remove or disable content, pause or stop an agent, or suspend or end access as the Terms allow. Where we can, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem, unless serious harm or the law calls for acting at once. We may report unlawful activity to the authorities. Organizations are responsible for their Users' compliance.

Reporting a violation

Report a violation of this Policy to legal@toflourish.org, and copyright infringement as our Copyright Policy describes. If someone is in immediate danger, call 911 or your local emergency number. In the United States, anyone in a mental health crisis can call or text 988.
